The Nashville Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Convention, now celebrating its 20th year, takes place at the Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel on Easter weekend 2023. For three days, April 7 through 9, horror movie icons like Tony Todd, Nick Castle, Bill Moseley, and Kane Hodder will join vendors and horror fans for a weekend of autographs, merch, movies, tattoos contests, and more. For the second year in a row, horror author Isaac Thorne will be assisting illustrator and graphic designer Ellezor at her vendor table.
“The Full Moon Festival is a hell of a good time,” Isaac says. “We met dozens of great horror fans last year. I’m looking forward to meeting more this time around.”
Ellezor, who design the covers for all of Isaac’s books, will have prints of her work for sale as well as adult coloring books. In addition, packaged copies of her Belles Dames Tarot set and coloring book will be available. Ellezor featured the 52-card Major Arcana fantasy-inspired female-empowerment tarot deck at the 2022 Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Convention.
This year, the artist will premiere her new adult coloring book, Beautiful Monsters, which features horror-inspired female characters in related environments.
Although Isaac will be behind a vendor table for all three days of the convention, he is quick to point out that it isn’t his table. “I’m mainly going to be there to help Ellezor with the setup and to run the payment system,” he explains. “It’s sort of my area of expertise for an event like this given my, shall we say, introverted nature. The table is all about Ellezor.”
Even so, a few copies of Isaac’s books will be available for sale at the table. There will also be free evil bunny stickers available in celebration of both Easter and the fact that the calendar has finally turned the page to halfway to Halloween.
“Ellezor is the artist behind all of my book covers with only a single exception, which was the audiobook edition of Safety First,” Isaac says. “I’m always excited to see what she comes up with when my books are ready for covers.”
He adds that any of his books purchased at the convention can be personally autographed. “Frankly,” he says, “you should have both of us autograph one. Selling a book starts with the cover, and Ellezor’s work has really made a difference for my books there.”
