As Halloween wrapped, Isaac Thorne appeared on Richard Sheppard’s The Constant Reader Podcast, a podcast about the canon of Stephen King. For his appearance, Thorne chose to discuss the King fantasy novel The Eyes of the Dragon.
“With the possible exception of Cycle of the Werewolf, The Eyes of the Dragon was my first entry into the King universe,” Isaac says. “I was always into horror, and I knew that King wrote horror, but I picked up The Eyes of the Dragon because it was the newest King title available. I didn’t really know what to expect at first.”
Together, Richard and Isaac discuss the good versus evil themes of King’s fantasy novel, now it fits into King’s overall universe as well as its own story, and how problematic characters are more interesting than perfect ones. In addition, Richard asks Isaac about his own new horror novel, Hell Spring, which is currently available from this site and retailers everywhere.
“I had fun chatting with Richard,” Isaac says. “Not only am I a Stephen King Constant Reader, I’m also now a regular listener of The Constant Reader Podcast.”
