Isaac Appears at Tennessee Book and Reader (TBR) Convention

Horror author Isaac Thorne looks forward to appearing at Tennessee Book and Reader (TBR) Convention in Knoxville, Tenn. Billed as “the ultimate bookworm experience…a gathering of lit lovers and authors,” the con starts at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, and ends at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Tickets through EventBrite are $13.67.

“This con is exclusively about readers connecting with authors,” Isaac says. “I look forward to meeting some fellow readers and authors there. My next novel, Tab’s Terrible Third Eye, goes on sale early next year. I’ll have a few advance copies on-hand for the event.”

This is the first year for TBR Con, which was organized by Megan Stockton. “I’m grateful that Megan organized this,” Isaac continues. “I mean, there are plenty of author-type events throughout the country, but having one less than a four-hour drive away from me makes me happy. Nashville has the Southern Festival of Books, which is always awesome, but doesn’t feel as welcoming to indies as TBR Con seems to be.”

He adds that he thinks a celebration of books, authors, and readers in 2024 is a great thing for the state. “Book banning has been in the news a lot in Tennessee in recent years, so it’s refreshing to see a new celebration of books of launch.”

As with most of his convention appearances, Isaac and fantasy/horror artist Ellezor will share a space. In addition to Isaac’s books, Ellezor’s products include coloring books for grown-ups, art prints, tarot cards, and more.
